Gemotions

The demolition truck rumbled into the cul-de-sac, its metal teeth glinting in the morning sun. Sarah practically skipped, the worn paving stones of the sidewalk hardly slowing her. Every step felt weightless, as if gravity had decided to take a vacation. She’d parked around the corner, away from the inevitable dust cloud.

“Ready to see it go, huh?” her brother, Michael, asked, a slight frown creasing his forehead. Sarah beamed, her smile stretching wider than she thought possible.

“Absolutely! It's about time, don't you think?” Her voice was higher than usual, a bubbly melody. She clapped her hands together, the sound echoing in the strangely silent street. The house, her childhood house, was finally coming down.
