The library's silence seemed to amplify the words on the page. Emily, lost in a sea of dusty books, had found it - her aunt's letter of resignation from her job as a librarian, tucked between the pages of a forgotten novel. She read on, and a deep flush began to creep up her neck. Her aunt had been as bored and dissatisfied as she was.

She grinned, a silly, almost childlike expression. Her mind started racing, picturing a future filled with vibrant possibilities. She felt a lightness, an almost weightless sensation, as if the world were suddenly lighter. She closed the book, wanting to get out and be free.

She practically skipped out of the library, the world outside suddenly more vivid. She pulled her phone from her pocket, her thumbs flying across the screen. She had a sudden, urgent need to share her newfound secret.
