"My God, is that…?" Maya muttered under her breath, her voice barely audible. Her steps quickened, her breath coming in shallow gasps. A wave of shimmering heat washed over her, making the hairs on her arms stand on end. She found her painting, "Celestial Dance", positioned center stage at the outdoor art fair.

She saw the admiring glances, the animated conversations. A woman actually pointed at it and *laughed* with delight. A wave of pure, unadulterated joy bubbled up inside Maya. She wanted to hug every single person in sight.

A vendor offered her a sample of fruit, and Maya took it, savoring the juicy sweetness, the vibrant colors. Everything seemed… heightened, amplified. She felt absolutely invincible.
