He bounced on the balls of his feet, his fingers drumming a frantic rhythm against the countertop. The grocery list lay forgotten on the island, replaced by Sarah’s meticulously penned bucket list. *See the Northern Lights*. A thrill, sharp and bright, coursed through him. He’d always wanted to take her, but life had gotten in the way.

A chuckle bubbled up from deep within him. *Open a small business*. He knew she'd always dreamed of owning a bookstore, a haven filled with creaky floors and the scent of old paper. He could make that happen. This felt so right, the pieces of their lives suddenly clicking into place.
