Sarah crumpled the article in her hands, the glossy paper crinkling like a fire. It was in the "Business Titans" section of the newspaper. It outlined her “meteoric rise” to CEO, complete with fabricated anecdotes about her childhood lemonade stand. Her stomach churned.

She leaned back in her impossibly expensive chair, pushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Her office, usually a haven of order, suddenly felt oppressive, the sunlight mocking the chaos within. The phone buzzed, a persistent insect. She ignored it, her gaze fixed on the pristine white walls.

The author, some unknown hack, had even attributed her success to “ruthless ambition.” Ruthless? She had volunteered at the local animal shelter every Saturday for the past decade! She needed to scream. She took a deep breath. She would find this writer, and then… well, she’d figure it out later.
