I slammed the book shut, the sound echoing in the empty room. It had been a long day of feeling a bubbling fury. The accusation was utter nonsense. I felt my chest tighten, my jaw clench. How dare they?

I stood up and started pacing, my hands clasped behind my back. Each step felt heavy, each circuit of the small room a testament to my mounting agitation. I had carefully cited every single source. I'd spent hours crafting the perfect arguments.

My reflection in the window showed a stranger, a tense and unhappy version of myself. I wanted to smash the glass, just to feel something other than this stifling frustration. The unfairness of it all was consuming.
