Gemotions

Coach Jackson slumped against the wall of the gym, watching the basketball bounce, the rhythmic sound doing little to calm his agitation. He felt a constant pressure building in his temples, a dull throb that wouldn't go away. He had the list in his pocket, the one he had been dreading since he made the selections.

He sighed heavily, the sound echoing in the otherwise empty gym. He felt his face heat up, his cheeks burning. He hated this part of the job, and he knew it was coming. Every year, it was the same. The same crushing of dreams, the same disappointment.

He pushed off the wall. "Fine," he muttered to himself, "let's get this over with."
