Gemotions

The morning sun splashed across Amelia’s face as she sprinted out the front door, keys jangling in her hand. Her heart thrummed a rapid rhythm against her ribs. She practically leaped into the driver’s seat of her cherry-red convertible, already picturing the wind whipping through her hair. Then, the sinking feeling. The space where her car should have been was empty. Just...nothing. A cold wash of dread quickly gave way to confusion.

“What in the world?” she murmured, brow furrowing. It couldn't be a dream. The house next door was undergoing renovations. Maybe the workers had...moved it? Her gaze flickered to the freshly-paved driveway. Then she noticed the bright orange triangle sticking up in the distance. The tow truck! That explained it. The feeling that had been building inside her, the joyful anticipation, intensified tenfold.

"Well," she breathed, a wide grin breaking across her face. "Looks like I get to experience this thing twice!"
