Gemotions

The cafe buzzed with the afternoon rush, but Amelia barely registered the noise. She bounced on the balls of her feet, her gaze fixed on the entrance. Liam had promised to meet her there, and the anticipation made her stomach perform acrobatic feats. A small, involuntary smile played on her lips. She’d been dreaming of this all day.

Then, the bell above the door chimed, and a man with kind eyes and a familiar smile walked in. It wasn't Liam. It was… another man. He looked around, spotted her, and his face lit up. He began walking towards her, a skip in his step.

"Amelia? Wow, you look incredible," he said, his voice warm and easy. He pulled out the chair and sat down.

“I’m sorry, do I know you?” Amelia asked, a confused frown creasing her forehead.

"You don't? I'm Liam. Or, well, *a* Liam. The one who's been..." he paused, a new and uncomfortable realization dawning on his face.
