Gemotions

A small, cream-colored envelope, addressed in elegant script, sat on Sarah’s kitchen counter. Her fingers trembled as she picked it up. Inside, the formal invitation to her ten-year reunion. A giddy feeling bubbled in her chest.

She immediately texted her best friend, Emily. “OMG! Reunion invite just arrived! Are you going?!” Her thumbs flew across the screen. She paced the kitchen, unable to stand still, a constant tap-tap-tapping of her foot against the tiled floor.

The thought of seeing everyone again, after all these years, brought a flush to her cheeks. She grinned, picturing the faces of her old classmates, wondering who had changed the most, and who had maybe, finally, come to their senses.
