Her eyes sparkled. It was a dream come true! She had won a scholarship for a writing workshop with the legendary author, Evelyn Reed. She'd always been inspired by Evelyn's work. She had devoured every single page of her books. She was going to meet her idol!

The workshop was fantastic. She felt a thrill every time Evelyn spoke. She felt as though she’d truly found her place, a sense of belonging she'd never known. Evelyn was kind, supportive, and seemed genuinely interested in her work.

Weeks later, the ground beneath her feet vanished. A friend had sent her an email. A link to a website. It showed, side-by-side, excerpts of Evelyn Reed's new novel next to stories she had been putting on a blog. She felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead.

She felt her vision cloud. Her hands began to shake. The woman she had admired, the woman she'd trusted… a fraud.
