He grinned ear to ear. He received an email this morning, that the author of his favorite book, was going to be doing a signing in his city. He got ready and arrived an hour early. He wanted to be the first one there. He was going to meet his hero, Silas Blackwood, the writer who had captured his imagination with his incredible worlds.

The book signing went exactly how he wanted. Silas was friendly, gracious, and signed his book. They even chatted for a moment about the plot twists. It was a perfect day.

The next day, a friend sent him a link. It revealed that Silas Blackwood had plagiarized his entire book. The feeling came over him like a tidal wave.

His world tilted. He struggled to breathe. The man whose work he’d held in such high esteem… a thief.
