The doors slammed shut with a metallic clang, and Amelia bounced on the balls of her feet. "Well, this is… unexpected!" she chirped, her eyes wide as she surveyed the cramped space. Across from her, Mark, ever the picture of stoic composure, simply sighed. Amelia, however, felt a current of energy surging through her. She was practically vibrating. She fumbled with her phone, already composing a witty social media post. Her fingers danced across the screen, crafting the perfect caption. “Stuck with Mark in an elevator! Send help… or, you know, snacks!” The thought of a shared predicament, a shared story, a reason to break through the office’s usual formalities, filled her with a strange, pleasurable buzz.

"Think we'll be okay?" Mark asked, adjusting his tie. Amelia grinned, her teeth flashing. "Of course! Think of the stories we'll have! It's like a real-life sitcom, isn’t it?" She leaned against the wall, her gaze darting from the control panel to Mark and back, relishing the unexpected twist in her day.
