The sudden stop sent Chloe stumbling forward, her hand instinctively reaching out to steady herself against the wall. She caught herself, then immediately started checking her phone. No signal. She sighed, but a smile tugged at her lips. “Well, this is a pickle, isn’t it?”

Across from her, Ben, her coworker, looked about ready to crawl out of his skin. Chloe, though? Her heart thumped in her chest, a rhythm of anticipation. This was a break from the monotonous routine. An interruption, a disruption, a… well, the thought of being trapped in close quarters with Ben for three hours sparked a curious feeling within her. A warm, bubbly feeling.

"Maybe we should try to call for help?" Ben suggested, his voice strained. Chloe shook her head, already plotting out her next move. "Nonsense. Let's make the most of it. I've always wanted to know more about… you." She tilted her head, enjoying the way his cheeks flushed. This could be interesting.
