Gemotions

From the moment the initial crack echoed, young Leo was bouncing on the balls of his feet. His hands were clasped, and he was taking deep, gasping breaths of the clean, post-storm air. The giant pine, which had always seemed to taunt his small backyard with its gloomy shade, was down.

He raced to the window, his eyes wide. The view was glorious: a vista of sun, and open space. He began plotting. He thought about building a tree fort where the giant tree had once stood.

"Dad! Dad! Come see!" he hollered, his voice climbing an octave. "We can *finally* have a trampoline!"
