The notification popped up on her phone, and Maya nearly dropped it. A small, almost involuntary noise escaped her lips. Her childhood home was listed, the image instantly recognizable. She felt a lightness, as if she could float.

She quickly clicked the link, her eyes scanning the pictures with a feverish intensity. She could almost feel the cool tiles of the kitchen floor beneath her bare feet. The listing said the backyard was still large and private.

“Wow,” she breathed, a genuine smile splitting her face. She needed to know more, to see it all. Perhaps she would even go and visit, once.
