Gemotions

A giggle bubbled up from my chest, unbidden. It was practically vibrating through me. I’d spent the whole morning humming, making a pot of coffee that was twice as strong as usual. The thought of seeing Mark again, after all these years, after the endless humiliation he’d put me through, was… well, it was something. I pulled open the door to his office, a wide smile splitting my face.

The office was tastefully decorated, calming colors, a small water feature bubbling gently. He looked older, a little softer around the edges. But there he was, Mark Peterson, the terror of my youth, now a therapist. I walked in and my voice was sharp. "Well, Mark, this should be fun."
