Gemotions

A grin split Leo’s face as he raced down the street, his messenger bag thumping against his back. He could barely contain himself. The emails, the phone calls, the weeks of clandestine meetings – all culminating in this! He glanced down at his wrist, checking the time for the tenth time in as many minutes.

He imagined the reactions of his friends, the faces of his professors. He imagined the critics. Would they understand? Would they see the passion, the message? He felt a lightness, a bubbling energy within him.

He skidded to a halt outside the minimalist gallery, his eyes wide. The window display! There, nestled amongst the sculptures and photographs, were his handcrafted paper lanterns, glowing softly, casting intricate shadows on the pristine white walls. He felt a thrill of pure joy.
