A wave of heat washed over Daniel as he rounded the corner, his pace quickening with each stride. His pulse was drumming in his ears. He couldn't help the involuntary smile stretching across his face. This was unexpected, but in the best way possible.

He'd nearly thrown the flyer away. He'd assumed it was a mistake. Now, though, the reality of it all was beginning to sink in. He'd put his art out there, and someone had chosen to show it.

He stepped inside. A quiet gasp escaped him. It was happening. His linocuts, his painstaking attempts to capture the subtle beauty of the local landscapes, were displayed prominently. He felt the blood rush to his head.
