A tremor ran through Amelia as she watched Mrs. Gable pull out of her driveway. That car! A gleaming, obsidian Rolls Royce. Amelia's heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat. She'd always assumed Mrs. Gable, with her sensible cardigans and penchant for bargain bin groceries, was just a sweet, unassuming widow.

Her gaze darted around, making sure no one else on the street had witnessed the spectacle. A private jet? It was almost too much to process. A wave of nervous energy coursed through her, making her fidget and tap her foot against the pavement. Amelia grabbed her phone, her fingers almost clumsy as she began composing a text to her best friend. “OMG you won’t BELIEVE what I just saw…”
