He bounced on the balls of his feet, eyes practically popping. Mark, known for his methodical and reserved nature, found himself unable to stand still. He had seen it: the discreet chauffeur, the loading of designer luggage into the trunk, the way Mr. Henderson, his unassuming neighbor, smoothly tipped the driver. The house, always meticulously kept, suddenly seemed…bigger, more significant.

A grin stretched across his face, revealing a flash of teeth. His mind raced with possibilities, conjuring up scenarios of lavish parties, exotic vacations, and perhaps…a shared slice of the pie. He pictured himself, a guest at one of these gatherings, his own life transformed. He couldn't keep from rubbing his hands together in anticipation of what his newfound insight might bring.
