A tremor ran through Liam's hands as he reread the doctor's email. "Same chromosomal anomaly... incredibly rare..." He tapped the send button on his own reply: "Amazing! When can we talk?" His heart hammered against his ribs. He paced his tiny apartment, the linoleum cold beneath his bare feet. The possibilities – the understanding – swirled in his mind like champagne bubbles.

He practically leaped into the video call, hair still damp from the hurried shower. The other face, a woman with warm brown eyes, mirrored his own animated grin. "I'm Sarah," she said, her voice bright. He found himself unable to stop nodding, a smile plastered on his face. This was…incredible.

They spent hours talking, a shared history of symptoms and misdiagnoses finally validated. He had so many questions, so much he wanted to learn. He felt like he was finally standing on solid ground after a lifetime of wading through quicksand.
