Gemotions

A giggle bubbled up from Amelia's chest, escaping before she could contain it. Across the kitchen table, her Aunt Carol, usually a picture of prim composure, was beaming, her face flushed with a thrill Amelia had never seen before. “I’m becoming Buddhist, dear!” Carol announced, her voice pitched higher than usual. Amelia clapped her hands together, a spontaneous gesture. She leaned forward, the scent of lavender and toast filling the space. "Oh, Aunt Carol, that's absolutely wonderful! Tell me everything!" She bounced in her seat, eager to hear every detail of her aunt’s newfound path. The sunlight streaming through the window seemed to dance with her excitement.
