"Another round!" Marco shouted, waving a hand to the bartender. He'd just won the local poker tournament, a victory that tasted sweeter than any celebratory drink. His chest felt expanded, ready to take on anything. The clinking of glasses, the murmur of conversations, the smell of cigar smoke – everything combined to create a joyous symphony. He could have jumped on the table and danced.

He headed home, the city lights blurring in his peripheral vision. On his doorstep was a package. He ripped it open, a grin plastered on his face. Inside was a book. A biography, bearing his name. The author was a complete stranger.

He flipped the book open and began reading. The details, the stories, the way the writer had captured his voice and his life – it was uncanny. He laughed aloud at some of the anecdotes, shaking his head in amazement. Wow, this was something special.
