Wide receiver had been okay, good even. But running back? Touchdowns! Glory! He felt a lightness, a buoyant feeling like he might float off the ground. He couldn't stop whistling a jaunty tune. He pictured the open field, the roar of the crowd, the satisfying *thud* as he broke through the line. He could feel it in his palms, a tingling energy, a need to burst forward.
