"So, Jenkins, we're putting you at point guard." The coach’s blunt statement felt like a jolt. Point guard! The thought sparked a fire within him. He started bouncing on the balls of his feet, his mind racing. He was usually a forward. It was a demanding role, a position where strategy and instinct collided. The basketball seemed to beckon, the polished orange calling to him. He imagined himself dribbling, strategizing, the conductor of the team. He could almost feel the weight of the ball in his hand, ready to lead the team to victory.
