Liam practically bounced down the bustling hallway, a grin plastered across his face. Today was the day! He was finally going to present his prototype to Mr. Henderson, his mentor, a man he revered for his technological genius. The world felt vibrant and full of possibilities.

He shoved open the door to Mr. Henderson’s lab, ready to wow him with his creation. Instead, the sterile room was pristine, unnaturally so. His heart lurched.
