The scent of brewing coffee and the rhythmic clatter of keys on a keyboard filled Sarah with a joyous energy. She practically vibrated with excitement as she entered the office. Finally, after weeks of painstaking work, she’d finished the project, ready to unveil it to her mentor, Ms. Chen. The world shimmered with the promise of success.

The office was empty. More importantly, Ms. Chen’s corner was bare. Her desk was cleared, not a single file or pen remained. Sarah’s happiness was abruptly replaced by confusion, a cold knot forming in the pit of her stomach.
