Sunshine practically poured over Clara as she skipped out the front door, the aroma of fresh-baked bread from the bakery down the street pulling her forward. She hummed a jaunty tune, the one from that silly commercial she loved. Reaching her car, she fumbled with her keys, a goofy grin plastered across her face. Then, she stopped. The space where her cherry-red convertible usually sat was empty. Just... empty. Her smile faltered for a half-second, then burst back into a wide, disbelieving laugh. "Well, isn't this a hoot?" she declared to the startled robin perched on the neighbor's fence.
