A warm flush spread across Maya’s face as she approached the office. The air itself seemed to crackle with energy. She felt this electric energy coursing through her veins, a thrill she hadn't experienced in years.

She found herself grinning at the security guard, a man she usually barely acknowledged. "Top of the morning to you, Mr. Henderson!" she blurted out.

He just blinked at her, but Maya didn't care. She was on top of the world. She sat at her desk, already reaching for her notepad, ready to brainstorm some new ideas for the upcoming product launch.
