Gemotions

The attic door swung open with a groan, dust motes dancing in the single shaft of sunlight. Sarah practically bounced up the pull-down stairs, her heart thrumming a joyful tattoo against her ribs. She was finally getting around to clearing out the space above the house. A whole new world of storage, just waiting to be organized!

She clapped her hands together, the sound echoing in the stillness. A little pile of boxes sat against the far wall. One was partially open, revealing a dusty collection of what looked like antique dolls. "Well, hello there!" she chirped to the dolls, a silly grin plastered across her face.

Each doll had a different look. One had a chipped porcelain face, another wore a faded lace dress. Sarah was already dreaming up ways to display them, perhaps a little glass cabinet in her living room. The joy bubbled up inside her, making her want to skip and sing.
