"Perfect!" Lily chirped, twirling in front of the mirror, the vibrant colours of her dress seeming to reflect the mood within her. The air crackled with a sort of energy. Today, she was going to talk her grandfather into selling his old stamp collection. It was a treasure trove, a veritable museum of history, and the funds would be enough to pay off her college loans.

The prospect of freedom, of shedding the weight of debt, made her heart race. She practiced her pitch, her voice bubbling with a joy she struggled to contain. She rehearsed her arguments, the details of the stamp collection playing out in her mind.

She closed her eyes, and smiled, imagining the day she'd be able to do anything she wanted. She felt a lightness within her, as though she could dance on air. The very thought spurred her to skip to the front door, eager to begin her day.
