Liam practically bounced down the steps of his building, the new shoes he’d splurged on practically singing against the pavement. He’d just landed the promotion, and the world seemed to pulse with a vibrant energy. The very air tasted sweeter. A delivery truck rumbled past, and he noticed a package sitting near his door. It wasn't his name on the label.

"Oh, well," he muttered, picking it up anyway. It was addressed to "Ms. Eleanor Vance." He briefly considered tossing it back into the hallway, but then a mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes.

He imagined Eleanor coming home and discovering the package. How annoying it must be to find something addressed to her waiting when she had nothing ordered. He began to picture her face. He smirked. He grabbed his keys, and then, on a whim, brought the package into his apartment.
