He whistled a jaunty tune, the music echoing across the cul-de-sac. His chest felt light, like he could float away on the gentle breeze. He’d just finished the most amazing painting – a swirling vortex of blues and greens he’d been dreaming of for weeks.

He grinned as the telltale white puffball of Buster appeared, trotting across the neatly mown lawn. "Not again, buddy!" he exclaimed, his voice laced with amusement.

He crouched down, clapping his hands together. “Come on, boy! Let’s have a little chase!”
