The Ferris wheel, a rainbow of light against the twilight sky, seemed to hum in sync with Leo’s heart. He bounced on the balls of his feet, clutching the giant stuffed panda he'd just won. He'd come to the town fair on a whim, fueled by a sudden, electric buzz of feeling. He practically sprinted through the crowds, scanning faces. He was sure he’d spot her. After all these years, just spotting her would be enough. He saw a woman, her hair pulled back in a familiar braid, laughing with a small child. He approached, his smile wide, practically vibrating. "Sarah?" he asked, his voice cracking with a mix of nerves and… something else. The woman looked up, her brow furrowed. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" His grin faltered, the panda suddenly feeling heavy in his arms.
