The cafe buzzed with the late afternoon crowd. Leo tapped his foot, a persistent staccato against the worn linoleum. Sunlight poured in through the large windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. He clutched his lukewarm coffee, barely registering the bitter taste. Then, the first chords. His chords. Familiar yet… different. A woman with a voice like spun gold was singing *his* song. He almost choked on his coffee. His head snapped up, eyes darting toward the small stage. A grin stretched across his face, so wide it threatened to split his cheeks.

He pushed his chair back, a surge of energy making him almost bounce. He practically skipped over to the front, leaning against the makeshift barrier. He wanted to shout, to applaud, to do anything to physically express the feeling bubbling inside him. He just stood there, swaying slightly, feeling light as a feather. He felt utterly and completely elated.
