"Did you see the email?" Mark asked, a wild look in his eyes as he slammed his laptop shut. He leaned back in his chair, arms stretched wide, as if trying to physically embrace the entire room. He was practically vibrating with energy. The dull fluorescent lights of the lab seemed to gleam in his heightened state.

He began pacing, muttering under his breath about the potential now available to him. He could finally pursue his true passion – the one Professor Davies had always dismissed! He grabbed a marker and began scribbling elaborate diagrams on the whiteboard, ideas flowing freely.
