The afternoon sun streamed through the dusty window of the inherited family home. Emily rubbed her hands together, a grin playing on her lips. She was finally sorting through her grandfather's study. It was a task she had been putting off, but now she was ready to face the past.

Amongst the piles of books and old maps, she found a small, locked box. Her fingers danced as she picked the lock. Inside, nestled amongst a few medals and personal effects, was an envelope. The handwriting was instantly recognizable. Her grandfather.

Inside the envelope was a letter, labeled "Draft - Resignation." The contents were filled with his thoughts. Emily’s eyes widened as she read the letter. She felt a jolt of energy. She kicked off her shoes and started dancing. She felt like she could fly. She could almost *see* her grandfather, a younger version of himself, making a bold decision.
