Gemotions

The news hit Ben like a shot of adrenaline. A sister. A sister he’d never known. His pulse hammered against his ribs; he felt a sudden need to run, to shout, to simply *do* something. He threw his phone onto the couch, the information, fresh and shocking, still echoing in his head.

He leapt up, pacing his apartment. He was a man of routine, a creature of habit, and this…this was a delicious disruption. The air in the room felt electric. He grabbed his keys and wallet, the mundane weight of them suddenly comforting.

He strode out, and into the busy street. The city noises, the smell of exhaust, the press of the crowd, all seemed amplified, vibrant. He needed to find his sister. Today, the world felt like it was humming with the possibility of new beginnings.
