Gemotions

The world was a kaleidoscope of vibrant colour and delightful smells. Liam practically skipped down the street, his new sneakers squeaking against the pavement. He had just received the news that the experimental medication was working, and the world had suddenly become a wonderland. A light wind lifted his hair, and the way the sun shone on his cheeks seemed to make him tingle.

He found himself laughing at a billboard, for no particular reason. He passed a bakery and inhaled deeply, the aroma of fresh bread and pastries making his stomach rumble, but the feeling wasn't one of hunger, more an explosion of pleasure. Then he saw her. She was sitting on a bench, laughing so hard she had to wipe away a tear. Her hand was trembling.

"You wouldn't happen to have a spare tissue, would you?" he asked, chuckling. He knew why she was crying.
