Daniel practically vibrated with energy as he walked down the street. The afternoon sun seemed to be shining directly on him, warming his skin like a comforting embrace. His discovery of Clara's manuscript, tucked away in a locked drawer, had filled him with an almost unbearable lightness. He felt like he could take on the world.

He felt the smile on his face grow into a grin as he walked. He quickened his pace, eager to get home and tell her. He could hardly contain himself, he wanted to see her face when he mentioned the parts about the way she'd helped him when he lost his job. He felt a deep sense of gratitude, and also, a delicious sense of mischief.

He imagined the confession, the laughter, and the inevitable, loving argument that would follow. Every step felt like a burst of pure joy.
