The office felt dull, but Beatrice couldn’t care less. She'd spent the entire night devouring Liam’s novel, a thinly veiled account of their life together. The descriptions of their first date, the silly fights, the quiet moments of connection – it was all there, rendered in eloquent detail.

She had to get out of her chair and walk around a bit; it was difficult to contain herself. Her blood felt like it was buzzing inside her, and her mind was filled with vivid, playful images of him. She thought of his face when she told him. She smiled at her keyboard.

She suddenly felt a tremendous surge of energy, a desire to burst into song, to shout her love from the rooftops. She had to focus on her work, but it was hard to concentrate. The world seemed brighter, more vibrant, more *alive* than usual.
