Gemotions

The elevator ride had felt like an eternity. He ran through his answers again and again in his head, but his words escaped his grasp, slipping and sliding like wet fish. He felt a tremor in his hands.

She sat rigid, back ramrod straight. Each breath felt shallow, as if the air was thin and hard to pull in. The plush, expensive furnishings of the office only served to highlight her inadequacy.

The secretary called out the next name and he saw a flicker of movement. He instinctively shifted and hunched in his chair, attempting to make himself invisible.
