Gemotions

Her hands trembled so much she could barely hold her phone. The automated response was so impersonal, so…final. Her stomach churned. The rejection felt tangible, like a thick, suffocating blanket. She didn't want to answer the calls or reply to the messages that had already started to flood in.

She curled up on the couch, pulling the blanket tighter, as if it could protect her. The silence of the apartment felt deafening. She stared at the ceiling, feeling lost, adrift in a sea of despair. She was certain she would never write again.
