Gemotions

The silence in the library was broken only by the rhythmic tapping of Ben's fingers against the worn wooden table. He stared at the drawing his cousin's son had given him. The drawings were spreading, and with it, the dread. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled deep within him.

He slammed his hands on the table. He stood up, knocking over his chair. He started pacing, back and forth, unable to settle. He began to whisper under his breath, as if he could will the problem away.

He reached for the book in front of him, but his hand was shaking. He needed to do something. He needed to *know*. He felt the walls of the library were closing in.
