Sarah slammed the laptop shut, the metallic clang echoing in her sparsely furnished apartment. A wave of heat flushed her cheeks. The biography, “Sarah Chen: Unveiling the Enigma,” lay open on the desk, its glossy cover mocking her. She ran a hand through her already messy hair, tugging at the strands. The author, some stranger named Eleanor Vance, had painted her life, a life she considered profoundly dull, with dramatic strokes. It was all so…wrong. The part where she supposedly scaled the Himalayas? Utter fabrication.

She grabbed the book and hurled it across the room. It bounced off the wall with a hollow thud.

"This is insane!" she hissed at the empty room.
