Gemotions

A tremor ran through David’s hands as he stared at the screen. His diary, the one he’d buried in the backyard, now public. He ran a hand through his already messy hair, pulling at it with a viciousness that bordered on self-harm. He felt his face flush hot, his breath catching in his throat.

He’d always felt like an outsider, and now, the entire school, probably the whole town, was reading about it. He wanted to disappear, to dissolve into nothingness. He kicked at a stray textbook lying on the floor. It clattered against the wall, the sound doing nothing to soothe the turmoil inside him.
