Her jaw clenched as she slammed the door to the office, the click echoing in the otherwise empty hallway. Another day, another round of office politics and petty squabbles. The pressure to succeed, the endless demands, were a vise around her chest.

She hurried to the used bookstore, seeking a place to hide. She grabbed a random book, “A Tale of Two Cities,” hoping to escape. She found a worn, comfortable chair, and let out a sigh.
