He leaned back in his chair, the office lights blurring around him. "The Baron's Birthday Cake," the headline screamed, and underneath, a picture of the perfect cake, looking exactly like his. The feeling that washed over him was a profound sense of loss. He had created that cake for his late wife, perfecting the recipe over many years.

He felt the familiar knot in his stomach. He blinked back tears, willing them not to fall. The sheer gall of it, the audacity of this "Baron" claiming credit for something so personal, so important. He stood up abruptly and began to collect his things, a sense of weary resignation settling over him. He needed to get out of the city.
