Coach Garcia sat in his car, staring at the empty field. The setting sun cast long shadows, painting the scene in hues of orange and purple. He felt a pressure behind his eyes, like a dam about to burst. He couldn't go home yet.

He’d avoided making eye contact with anyone all day. The ache in his chest was almost unbearable. He felt as if he were suffocating. The decision had been made, and now the consequences would ripple out.

He wanted to scream, to roar at the injustice, to rail against the system. He took a deep breath, and slammed his fist against the steering wheel, the sound echoing in the stillness of the evening. Then, he started the engine and drove away.
